Policy hub for open access, copyright, APCs, ethics, plagiarism, AI, data, preservation, repository permissions, complaints, appeals, indexing, and metadata.

Open Access

JOTS is an open access journal. Articles are freely available after publication and are published under CC BY 4.0.

Canonical journal website: https://otsjournal.org/

Authors retain copyright in their work and grant JOTS the right to publish and identify the article as the version of record.

Article Processing Charges

JOTS does not charge article processing charges, submission charges, or publication fees.

Publication Ethics

Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to follow recognised standards for research integrity, authorship, competing interests, corrections, and retractions.

Plagiarism

Submissions may be checked for plagiarism, duplicate publication, unattributed reuse, and citation manipulation. Manuscripts that fail these checks may be rejected or corrected according to the evidence.

AI Policy

AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain responsible for all submitted content and should disclose material AI-assisted writing, analysis, image generation, or data processing where relevant.

Data Policy

Authors should provide a data availability statement when data support the article. Data sharing must respect privacy, consent, ethics approvals, confidentiality, and legal restrictions.

Preservation

JOTS preserves publication records, article files, and metadata through Scholardemia publication records and Zenodo DOI deposits where configured.

Repository Policy

Authors may share repository copies of their work when the shared version, citation, and licence terms remain consistent with the published record.

Complaints and Appeals

Authors may send complaints or appeals to the editorial office with a clear evidence-based rationale. Appeals are reviewed by an editor who was not responsible for the original decision where practical.

Indexing and Metadata

JOTS is indexed/listed with DOAJ and OpenAIRE. Published article metadata uses the Zenodo DOI namespace 10.5281/zenodo.
